JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Strategy Execution and Integration reports to the Chief Executive Officer, the position is responsible for overseeing strategic business initiatives outlined by the CEO, gatekeeping, monitoring, and managing the flow of multi-platform communication to and from the office of the Chief Executive Officer. The Director ensures the timely completion of projects and collaborates with the Executive Assistant to keep the CEO organized to include preparation and follow-up for stakeholder meetings. The Director will focus on enterprise level coordination and knowledge sharing in support of achieving the organizational strategic plan goals. The Director works with the CEO and the VP of Branding and Marketing to build and expand the Council’s national profile and brand as the Subject Matter Expert in the field of early childhood education.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Initiatives:

  • Develop, lead, monitor, and assess progress of strategic initiatives ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, objectives, and long-term goals that align with the board's expectations.
  • Integrate senior leaders' input into shaping and adjusting strategic initiatives.
  • Function as a trusted advisor to the CEO on strategic matters.

Internal Leadership Support

  • Collaborate closely with the executive leadership team to curate meeting agendas that address critical strategic issues and organizational priorities.
  • Provide insight to the Vice President of People and Culture on the talent required to meet strategic objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative leadership culture by organizing leadership activities which will strengthen organizational cohesion.

Strategic Planning:

  • Lead and facilitate strategic planning sessions during senior leadership meetings, actively contributing to the development and refinement of organizational strategies.
  • Facilitate and contribute to the internal strategic planning process in collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Assist in formulating and refining organizational goals, objectives, and key results.
  • Communicate and implement the strategic plan throughout the organization.

External Partnership Nurturing:

  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance organizational capabilities.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, industry leaders, and partners to explore collaborative opportunities.
  • Represent the organization in external forums to support strategic goals.

Organizational Brand Refinement:

  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Marketing and Communications to identify parallel approaches to drive the refinement and enhancement of the organizational brand.
  • Ensure consistent integrated messaging across internal and external channels, aligning with values and the Council’s strategic positioning.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform the Council brand refinement strategies.

Executive Support:

  • Prepare reports for executive leadership and board members on key performance indicators and program outcomes.
  • Facilitate regular communication to keep board members informed about organizational updates, initiatives, and key developments.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to prepare agenda items and materials for board meetings.
  • Organize board retreats, workshops, and strategic planning sessions to foster collaboration and alignment.
  • Facilitate discussions to ensure that the board's perspectives and insights are effectively incorporated into organizational planning.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate a structured, continual process to formulate, align, review, test, and adapt a three-year strategic plan, in partnership with the senior management team.
  • Serves as a liaison and provides project management and guidance for CEO driven cross-unit initiatives and activities to support consistent quality, brand identity, and maintain focus on strategic priorities.
  • Provide actionable strategic intelligence, analysis, and visual reports to stakeholders to support prioritizations, shifts, and responses that promote enhanced organizational decision making.
  • Think critically to foresee and overcome potential implementation risks and issues and be a driver to develop solutions and collaborate with partners to implement them.
  • Contribute to the development of the Council’s CEO overarching influencing and communication strategies, leading strategy development in close collaboration with colleagues as required.
  • Creates external engagement strategies and plans and conveys those strategies and plans to the rest of the organization ensuring there is coordination and follow through.
  • Attends meetings both internal and external on behalf of the CEO and supports the elevation of the work of the Council brand.
  • Develops strategies to broaden the exposure of the Council.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 years of work experience focused on complex project implementation and/or program management operations.
  • Ability to develop and drive a shared understanding of a long-term vision.
  • Ability to manage innovation and seize opportunities to create new and radical alternatives to traditional methods and approaches.
  • Analytical and metrics oriented as it pertains to understanding, prioritizing, and measuring the impact of key projects and how to make decisions to move them forward.
  • Strong project management skills and demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong communicator with excellent ability to work in a team environment.
  • Advanced ability to build and manage relationships.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience in data visualization.
  • Masters’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Public Relations, or a related field.
